Mr. Saurabh K Sharma deaf & dumb received financial educational support from XIDAS


Mr. Saurabh Kumar Sharma is a student of class XII who is deaf and dumb since his birth. His father passed away in January 2015 leaving behind his daughter and blind wife upon the shoulder of Saurabh. Fr. Alfred Toppo SJ, Director and Prof. Mehul Chauhan, Dean XIDAS granted Saurabh financial assistance for his study purpose. On this occasion Mr. Arun Tripathi, Librarian suggested that all the people from various walks of life should come forward for such humanitarian causes. XIDAS has always been committed in serving the poor and the marginalized.




One Day Round Table on Strategies & Challenges in Management Education-A time for Introspection and Action at XIDAS by Prof. Satyendra C. Pandey, NALSAR


XIDAS organized a one day roundtable on relevance of management education and present concerns faced by B-Schools in the country. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Satyendra C. Pandey, Assistant Professor at Centre for Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and a Jesuit alumnus shared that the current turbulent economic situation and a continued period of sub 5 per cent economic growth is impacting B-Schools in India. Both, myopic view and inability to be proactive has led to the closure of numerous B-Schools in past few years. He shared his concerns on academic enrichment and suggested a three pronged strategy of reforming programme structure, building synergic design and an approval of quality for B-Schools to grow and remain relevant. He also highlighted that course content and structure in a management programme should be drafted in close consultation with Industry.  Fr. Alfred Toppo, S.J., Director and Prof. Mehul Chauhan, Dean thanked the resource person for his enriching deliberation.






Industry Interface Guest Lecture Series

‘Know Yourself and Others’ by Mr. Dilip Mazumdar, HR-VP, Amrit Feeds


A Two Day workshop “Know yourself and others” was conducted by Mr. Dilip Majumder (HR Vice- President) Amrit Feeds Ltd. Calcutta and an Alumni of XISS Ranchi has conducted with his team member Miss Merry Basak (Asst Manager) Learning and development. The session was excellent and it has helped the students to enhance their practical skills, hands on experience and extra edge of knowledge need to perform job responsibilities During the workshop an overview of Psychometric assessments and understanding the various kinds of Psychometric assessments tools were delivered. It was an immense pleasure for the students of PGDM-III who has got a wonderful opportunity to attend this kind of workshops. Fr. XIDAS holds blood donation camp in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society


The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Jabalpur Division conducted a blood donation camp at XIDAS on the 8th of September, 2015. Mr. Naidu, executive member of the IRCS, Jabalpur division briefed the students about the benefits and advantages of having blood donation. Fr. Alfred Toppo SJ, Director donated his blood and inaugurated the session. More than 30 students had actively participated in the donation. Prof. Mehul Chauhan, Dean thanked the Indian Red Cross Society for holding such a camp for the betterment of humanity at XIDAS, Jabalpur.




XIDAS and its identity in Virtual World: An analysis of its Website by Er. Animesh Mishra, Samdariya Group


Mr. Animesh Mishra, Head E-Commerce & Digital Marketing, Samdareeya Group and an alumnus of XIDAS delivered a talk on Digital Marketing for the PGDM students of XIDAS. He stated that any source of presentation that uses any digital media for the purpose of marketing such as branding, promotional strategy etc. is known as digital marketing. The digital presence of any product can be assumed to be global presence in this digital era. All the businesses in this generation are getting digitalized every day. They are making their business presence over the web i.e., online media. They need proper online promotional & branding strategy to get a proper Return on Investment. Fr. Alfred Toppo, S.J., Director and Prof. Mehul Chauhan, Dean thanked the Speaker for enlightening the house with digital ideas and they also called for greater digitalization in the academic system as inspired by Hon. P.M. of India.




XIDAS offers support to Old age home at Little Sisters of the Poor


XIDAS delivered financial aid to the old age home inmates of the Little Sisters of the Poor at Jabalpur. The financial assistance was given by Fr. Alfred Toppo SJ, Director to Sister Superior in presence of Fr. Amritlal Toppo SJ, Administrator, Fr. Ashok Lakra, HoD and Prof. Mehul Chauhan, Dean. The old age home has around 50 inmates who are poor and needy. XIDAS has been pioneer in serving the poor and the needy.




Watershed Management Exposure visit organized for PGDM-RM students


The educational tour was conducted by xidas and the students were guided by Dr. Manisha Garg, visiting faculty on 12th September, 2015. The program was Intregated Watershed Management Program (IWMP) of M.P Government conducted in two villages of Jabalpur District, Tinsa and Tinsi. The Chief Technical officer of the program Mr. Rajendra Singh Chouhan and Monitoring Head Mr. Asish and Sub- engineer Mr. Ranbir Mehra were the key person who made the tour, and also Mr. Mukesh Sahoo, Secretary of the village along with Mr. Arvind Sahoo, WDT member. The main focus was to see the practical aspects of the village water Shed Models developed by the Technical Team along with the village people. Major sights were Check Dam, Stop dam and Percolation tank and their costs. The Watershed has changed the dry wastelands into arable lands. Fr. Alfred Toppo SJ, Director and Prof. Mehul Chauhan, Dean thanked all the resource persons for transferring knowledge from lab to these young minds.

 Exposure Visit: Goa and Sagar                                  


Rural Immersion Programme  at Sagar

Rural Immersion Programmer was organized by XIDAS, Jabalpur in collaboration with MVSS (Manav Vikas Seva Sangh), Sagar. The first year PGDM and PGDM-RM students were sent for rural immersion programme from 25.09.15 to 01.10.15. The students went to villages for three consecutive days where they conducted research study on livelihood issues and challenges, rural society etc. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools were used to engage with the villagers. The students gave a presentation based on the research on the final day to MVSS.


The Programme was organized by Dr. J. R. Jha, Principal, Dr. J. Pathak and Prof. N. Abraham, faculty guided the students. Fr. Alfred Toppo, S.J., Director and Prof. Mehul Chauhan Dean thanked the faculty, staff members and students for their contribution in making the rural immersion programme a successful one.


Industrial Exposure in Goa


XIDAS organised a week long industrial exposure from 25.09.15 to 1.10.15 for its second year Management students PGDM and PGDM-RM to Goa. The students were taken to some of the prominent industries in Goa, such as; Varun Beverage Limited, Goa Milk Federation and Monginis.


The expedition to the place was enriching and helped the students in understanding the work culture of the Industries. Visit to each of the industry was followed by a discussion with the management of the companies, where the students learnt from their experiences, which not only helped the students in developing an array of expertise knowledge but also in preparing a platform for a better work life through corporate commitment that they observed amongst the employees in those industries. The Industrial visit was designed so as to help the students in practical application of the academic programme that they have been pursuing. Dr. Namrata V Jasrotia, Prof. Ritesh Singh, Prof. Pawan Paharia, Prof. Anchal Mishra, Ms. Mitchell Dias and Mr. Lawrence Sequiera accompanied the students and provided them with their valuable guidance. Fr. Alfred Toppo SJ, Director and Prof. Mehul Chauhan Dean thanked the faculty, staff members and students for their contribution to make this industrial exposure a successful one.
