Facilities of the Institute

a) The Campus

Xavier Institute (XIDAS), Jabalpur, is located at a sprawling campus of about 9 acres. The entire campus has been developed esthetically. It has separate buildings for the academic activities, hostel for women, hostel for men, staff residence and guest house. The Institute is located at a distance of about 8 kms from the Jabalpur Railway Station.    

b) Residence and other Facilities

The Institute has two well-furnished (single-bed, two-bed and three-bed rooms with attached toilets) hostels for men and women. About 300 persons can be accommodated at a time in these hostels.

c) Documentation Centre and Library

In order to disseminate the required information to the various projects and programmes of the Institute and to the students of Management Studies, the Institute has three Libraries – MBA Library, PGDM Library and Central Library-cum-Documentation Centre. The Library comprises: About 6000 titles/books, over 250 research papers, about 100 in-house reports, 35 journals, 22 magazines, 98 video cassettes, 23 audio cassettes, 07 dailies, 40 library files, 65 profiles and 16 compact disks. The Library is open for 12 hours a day (from 09.00 hours to 21.00 hours), six days a week, except on public holidays. About 150 students can be comfortably seated at a time in the reading rooms of the Library. 

d) Computer and Internet Facilities  

The Institute has three Computer Labs, with over 100 high capacity (Pentium IV) computers and licensed softwares. The entire computer network is connected to the Internet, with a high-speed broadband connectivity provided by BSNL. The students and participants of different training programmes have access to these facilities. The computer and Internet facilities are available from 9.00 hours to 21.00 hours, six days a week, except on public holidays.
